Frequently Asked Questions
Is anything sent to a server?+
Browsing Twitch requires talking to Twitch. Your searches go through this site to Twitch's official API so the browser is allowed to read the answer, and clip thumbnails and video come from Twitch's own servers. Nothing about you is stored: no account, no profile, no record of what you looked at. Your saved clips, collections and blocked streamers are a different matter — those never leave your browser.
Where are my collections kept?+
In this browser, under keys starting with clipy_. They survive reloads and are still there when you come back, but they are tied to this browser on this device. Nothing is synced anywhere, and clearing your site data deletes them.
Can I download the clips here?+
No. Clipy is for finding things; downloading is TwitchBolt's job. Send a whole collection there in one click, or export it as a text file of links and paste it wherever you like.
Why do some searches come back empty?+
The results are whatever Twitch is serving right now. A quiet category genuinely has few recent clips, and your own filters can hide the rest — a narrow date range or a language list will empty a page fast. Twitch also rate-limits occasionally; waiting a few seconds and searching again usually works.
What does blocking a streamer actually do?+
It hides every clip from that channel across the whole tool, immediately and on every future search. It is a local filter, not a report: Twitch is never told, the streamer never knows, and you can export the list or undo it whenever you like.
