RecordSnap
Record your screen, your webcam or both at once, entirely inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and you choose the bitrate.
Nothing is being recorded
Pick your sources on the right, then grant access. You get a live preview first — recording only starts when you say so.
How it works
Pick what to capture
Screen, webcam or both, plus the microphone and system audio you want in the mix.
Preview the sources
The browser asks for permission and you see the exact frame. Nothing is recorded yet.
Press record
Pause, resume, mute yourself and move the webcam bubble while it runs.
Save or keep going
Download the MP4 or WebM, or send it straight to another tool in the suite.
100% local recording
Every frame is encoded in your browser's memory. Your recordings never touch a server.
Movable webcam bubble
Drop your camera over the shared screen and drag it, resize it or reshape it while you record.
No limits, no watermark
No time cap, no forced downscaling, no logo burnt into the corner. Free, all of it.
A bitrate you control
Four presets that set a real encoder bitrate instead of the flat browser default that turns 1080p into mush.
Live audio desk
Choose the microphone, mix in system audio, and mute yourself mid-take without stopping the recording.
Chained with the suite
Send the recording to the GIF maker or the frame grabber without downloading and re-uploading it.
100% Local, Private & No-Install Screen Recording
Most online screen recorders make you upload huge video files to the cloud, or install a desktop app you did not ask for. RecordSnap captures your screen, your camera and your audio inside the browser sandbox and writes the file straight to your disk.
MP4 or WebM, at the bitrate you pick
The browser's recorder settles for roughly 2.5 Mbit/s whatever the resolution, which is why free recorders look blurry at 1080p. RecordSnap computes the bitrate from your resolution, frame rate and quality preset, and writes H.264 MP4 when your browser supports it.
A complete screen recorder that never leaves your device
Software tutorials, online classes, slide presentations, bug reports, feedback for a colleague: RecordSnap captures your screen and your face locally, and hands you a file you can edit anywhere.
The whole recording lives in memory until you download it. There is no upload endpoint, no account, and no analytics on the media itself. What you record is yours and stays on your machine.
Frequently asked questions
QIs this tool secure?+
Yes. The capture, the mixing and the encoding all happen in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, so your recordings stay entirely private.
QHow long can I record?+
There is no time limit imposed by us. The practical cap is your free disk space and the memory your browser can hold, since the file is assembled locally.
QCan I record system audio?+
Yes, on desktop Chrome, Edge and Opera: tick "Share audio" in the browser's share dialog. You can mix it with your microphone. Because of operating-system limits, system audio is unavailable in Safari and on mobile.
QWhat format do I get?+
MP4 with H.264 when your browser can write it, which is the format editors and phones expect. Otherwise WebM with VP9. You choose the container in the quality panel, and the codec actually used is shown next to it.
QWhy do other browser recorders look blurry?+
Because they leave the encoder at its default bitrate, roughly 2.5 Mbit/s, no matter the resolution. Text and thin lines are the first casualties. Here the bitrate is derived from your resolution, frame rate and quality preset, and it is printed in the panel before you start.
QDoes it keep recording if I switch to another window?+
Yes. Compositing runs on a worker timer instead of the animation frame callback, which browsers freeze in a background tab. That is exactly the situation you are in while you present something else.
QCan I record on my phone?+
You can record the camera and the microphone. Screen capture is not offered by mobile browsers, so for a screen recording you need a desktop browser.
