CropSnap

How it works

1

Drop an image

JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF or an iPhone HEIC. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

2

Frame the crop

Drag the handles, pick a ratio, or type the exact pixels you need.

3

Straighten and flip

Fine rotation for a crooked horizon, 90° steps, mirroring — with undo on everything.

4

Preview, then save

You see the real result and its real weight before you download it.

Cuts at full resolution

The crop is rendered from the original pixels, not from the preview on screen. A 12 MP photo comes back as megapixels, not as a thumbnail.

100% local

The image is decoded, cropped and encoded inside your browser. No upload, no queue, no copy left on anyone's server.

Sizes that mean something

Instagram, Stories, YouTube thumbnails, link previews, banners, avatars and A4 at 300 dpi — each with its exact pixel target.

Straighten, flip, undo

A fine rotation slider for crooked horizons, 90° steps, mirroring, and an undo history that stores numbers rather than bitmaps.

Preview before you commit

The crop is rendered and shown with its true pixel size and file weight, so you download it knowing exactly what it is.

Chained with the suite

Send the crop straight to compress, convert, cut out or watermark without downloading and re-uploading it.

Crop without quietly throwing your pixels away

Most browser croppers export whatever the editor was showing on screen, so a 4000-pixel photo comes back a few hundred pixels wide and nobody mentions it. CropSnap keeps the selection in the coordinates of the original file and renders the crop from those pixels, then shows you the result and its weight before you save anything.

The size you ask for is the size you get

Type 1280×720 and that is what lands in your downloads, rendered from the original image data. If you ask for more pixels than the selection actually holds, the tool says so instead of handing you a blurry upscale and calling it a resize.

A local photo cropper, straightener and resizer

Built for creators, shops and developers

Cut product photos to the same frame, straighten a horizon that came out crooked, prepare an OG image at exactly 1200×630, or trim an avatar. The named sizes remove the guesswork and the preview removes the surprises.

Nothing leaves the tab

Many online image tools upload your photos to a backend and keep a copy for longer than they admit. CropSnap decodes, crops and encodes everything inside your browser. There is no upload endpoint, so there is nothing to leak.

Frequently asked questions

QWill cropping lower the quality of my photo?+

The crop itself is taken from the original pixels, so there is no resampling unless you ask for one. If you export as JPEG or WebP the encoder re-compresses the result, which is why the quality slider is there; PNG stays lossless.

QCan I crop to an exact pixel size?+

Yes, and it is honest about it. Type the width and height in the output panel, or pick a named size such as 1200×630. If the number you ask for is bigger than the selection actually contains, a warning tells you the extra pixels are invented rather than recovered.

QDoes CropSnap support iPhone HEIC images?+

Yes. HEIC and HEIF files are converted to JPEG on your own machine before the editor opens, so you can crop a photo straight off an iPhone without installing anything.

QWhat happens to transparency?+

PNG and WebP keep it. JPEG cannot store an alpha channel at all, so when you export a transparent image as JPEG the tool asks which colour should sit behind it — otherwise the transparent areas would come out black.

QHow do I straighten a crooked photo?+

The Adjust tab has a fine rotation slider covering ±45°, separate from the 90° buttons. Rotate until the horizon is level, then pull the crop frame in to cut off the corners the rotation exposed.

QWhich format should I choose?+

JPEG for photographs, where it is far smaller for the same perceived quality. PNG when you need transparency or pixel-exact graphics. WebP when you want both, and the places you are uploading to accept it.

QAre my photos uploaded to a server?+

No. Every step runs on a canvas inside your browser, and the file never touches the network. That is also why it keeps working after you lose your connection.
